About
When your fans are listening, you have an opportunity to speak up.
Band Together is a non-profit project that empowers artists to help important causes. It’s simple: at www.bandtogether.org, you can download ready-to-use text, graphics and other promotional material from select nonprofits, and then incorporate them into your newsletters, website and live sets.
By collectively focusing on a few organizations each year, we can make a powerful impact on issue awareness, fundraising, and advocacy.
Members can also contribute their music to Band Together albums. To date, we have produced two albums to raise money for causes that are not being covered by the media but desperately need support. The first album, “Band Together: To Fight Measles,” raised money for measles vaccinations through the American Red Cross to save lives in the developing world. The second album, “Band Together 2,” was a coordinated effort between thesixtyone.com, a judging panel and the Fender Music Foundation. Its proceeds were entirely designated for music education programs.
Now the production of a third album is currently in progress. Thanks to an exciting partnership with the What’s Your Issue Foundation, we have Jack Black, the manager of Green Day, and a VP at Def Jam Records on the judging panel, and a partnership with Apple to promote winning artists.
